Established in July 2007, the college is the only of its kind in the 16-campus U.N.C. system. Read on and discover why.
The College’s faculty members are accomplished professional artists who train and guide students on their own pathways to professional artistry. From a selective admissions process to graduation, our students are part of the ongoing "great experiences" through the creation of art, teaching, and advocacy.
Through its constituent members, the School of Art and Design, School of Music, Department of Stage and Screen, and the Fine and Performing Arts Center, the College’s academic curriculum encourages and promotes “great experiences”—experiences that will change one’s life.
The College’s abundant performance, exhibition and work spaces—the literal home of great experiences—range from the $30M Fine and Performing Arts Center with its Fine Art Museum and academic wing, to the intimate Niggli Theatre and the high-technology digital television and recording studios.
Through its dedication to excellence and the integration of teaching, scholarship and service, the College offers educational opportunities not only to a wide variety of students but also to the larger community. Regional partnerships and support play an important and acknowledged role in the College’s continued service to the campus and community.
