WCU to offer 'Art Day' Oct. 27
10/8/2008 - Western Carolina University’s art education department will offer its third annual “Art Day” from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27.
Four Jackson County students from each grade in grades six through eight will be selected to participate. The focus of the workshop will be Asian art, with a special emphasis on Japanese art.
Students will create brush-painted scrolls and learn ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement, emphasizing shape, line and form.
Students also will participate in a tea ceremony.
